Uh, I read somewhere that you can like bury it at the new moon, outside, in the moon's path, and then go dig it up at the full moon. I don't know if this is necessary. Some things I personally believe are optional. For instance, I did not bury mine, so... lol
Also, I personally think... and this is just me... that a general ritual blessing with, say, blessed water or salt or the like, something more personal or eclectic, would be just as effective. I have two large dogs who love to dig, and the neighbors don't keep theirs penned up too well, so they're always getting out. Therefore, burying mine doesn't really seem to be a safe bet. Of course, on the other hand, I haven't gotten around to blessing any of my tools, so take my advice as you will. =P
Hey Silverthorn,
you can find the ritual in Scott Cunningham's Guide guide for a Solitary Witch. His writing style is real basic but not insulting. Quite frankly I'm amazed that people are so quick to reveal there Totem's but not something as a consecration spell. Its real easy to do blessing your pentacle through each of the elements.
Yhank yopu, I think I'am going to try to write my own blessing ritual.

Thanks,
Silverthorn :)
You can charge it in the Full Moon, or New Moon, as your needs warrant.........charging a tool in an eclipse is very good. I also bless my tools, and dip them in springs., or the ocean at midnight, if I am around beach.
