Goat, you sound like a very knowlegable person with alot of good information to put out here and I would like to more from you. And in reding some lof what you had to say you like a person you has a wellspring of knowledge that people could learn alot from and it seens to that you have lived many lives before this one before I go let leave you with a blessing "may the horned one protect you in all that you do and all your goings. And may the Goddess guide your steps along the Path of the wise and inthe ways of those who went before us." Rather long winded when I wrote it but I wasn't sure how to shorten it any more it was a bit longer than this one.

Its a laugh aminute when that happens isnt it?!  When I get complemented on my craft I think things like Dude if only you knew!!.

I believe animals are more intuned to the environment than we realise and she is proably wandering why the energies changing.  My Fifi used to drive me scatty with her behaviour when I first started doing circles and I used to chuck her out but the my friend Jenna suggested I hang a protective and healing crystal on her collar and she settled after that.

Personally I prefer eclectic.  Ive never really been one to follow others and as a Solitary I can broaden my horizons so to speak and through creation (and sometimes distruction when things go wrong) I can express myself and open my mind to more possibilities than if I were formally taught.  At least this way we can say "oops" and improvise (in my case wildly).  Experimentation is a good thing when the fingers dont get burnt in the process.  Sometimes I think my guides work overtime when I strt something new.

It does sound like fun chaos.lol Lately I'm trying some new shielding and protection tecniques, and my dog doesn't like it I guess. She sometimes starts barking but looks around the room like she doesn't know what she's barking at, yet she feels there's a need to protect herself.  The Craft Of The Wise isn't welcome around my family either, but I'm very creative so many of them don't relize that some things around the house were blessed or created with magickal intent. I've noticed that being eclectic makes our pathes a little more winding then someone who follows a set tradition, and being creative helps along the way.

Ive never worked with others and Ive never found a covern as the "Pagan religion" is still not a welcom subject on home turf.   The path for us us winding and bumpy but as Solitaries and we improvise more and follow many paths so life is always interesting and to learn along lifes path is always good.  Ive got 4 dogs but theyr less than helpful as they think my magic times are playtime and cause mayham.  Bella leads the pack and Modie takes up the rear with the other two mischief makers inbetween.  Morgan heads up a tree and glares at everyone and I clean up the mess.  Its organised chaos but fun all the same

I find that animals often help my magick. My dog seems to know when I'm working magick and she often lays right next to me. I agree with you about solitary witches tending to be eclectic. I think it's often because some don't know what magickal path they want to follow, and because we have mostly books to learn from, we often find that we like all of the different paths. So we walk a little of them all. My personal path has been a very winding road, I've worked with others before but I find that I enjoy working more by myself.

Sounds like a plan.  I end up casting bigger protective circles than planned - I have to incorporate all the "necessities" into it including myself!!  Back home Morgan gives me a hard time if I dont include her as she steps over the line and heads over for a look see.  I believe cats live on the inbetween line anyway so I guess no harm done though Ive met some higher educated wiccas who disagree.  Anycase Ive never had any problems and shes my cittie companion so she would know.  Its a nice thing about being a Solitary - we become somewhat eclectic due to self study and the lines blur between the disciplines. Any thoughts on this|?

I agree, I've noticed that the more I work to make a spell work the better results I end up getting. That's also why I don't do spells for people, unless they know ahead of time that they need to work to make it happen, and want it bad enough to do the work.

Hopefully not but the wheel turns and what is sent out ultimately returns to sender so the one they will hurt in the end is themselves if their intent was anything but for the good will.  What is tragic is that they have to do things like that.  Fun with another is all good but at anothers expense is something else all together.  Some need to learn that it is through hard work and not short cuts that anything worthwhile is gained.  Thats what spells require to work - thought and effort and I find that the more I put into them the better they are

I hope they don't get anyone hurt with what they're doing, and I agree that that is a lesson they need to learn.

First lession I learnt is NEVER mess with the astrial and always be true to your being.  Treat with respect what is given and your Guides and Gods from whom all is sent forth into the world.  Casting spells is part of it but by living we can enspire, heal and guide others.  Ive often found that these are the people Im most attracted to as teachers and as friends.  I think you were perfectly correct to get angry and I hope they learn that taking short cuts never gains a person anything but strife in the end.
