General idea for this forum...

Hi Newbies and Advisors!

So glad you made it here. Thanks for joining both this group and the community. Ask for what you are seeking and another might help you find it.
Feel free to start a discussion or post comments on the wall (like many so far, thanks)...
That's the idea anyway!
This group is very loosely administered... It's more a point of connection for new community members looking to meet others. New members may or may not be new to the concept of Paganism etc.

Express yourself!

Hugs,
Rebecca

I've been  a practising witch for over 25 yrs now and I'm always looking to network and talk to others. I was High Priest of a Coven for two years...but it went the way of the wind...members moved away etc.. Getting witches together is sometimes like trying to herd cats. I have a lot of knowledge that I would love to share...

Hi Im a natural  - and a solitary as Ive never joined a covern or had a teacher other than a very close friend who was born into a "witching" family.  The only advice I can give to you from experience is to read everything you can about wicca and the path and to practice the ability to focus.  Meditation is a good tool to relax and let the energy flow.  I use candles and incence smoke to pracitce if indoors.  Being an "outdoors type" theres loads of things to practice on if you just look with an open mind and heart.  Just go with what feels right in your heart and you cant go wrong - our Mother is always there to lend a helping hand and  to teach if you ask, or you  could get a guardian-guide.  Mine is my cat Morgan and she may cause havoc upon ocassion but shes always around when I need her.

Hi Sarah - merry meet.  I hope you have a blessed time in learning your path and place in the world before you.

Meditation takes a bit of practice.  I do it two ways - if Im rested then I sit down and do it the old fashioned way but if theres too much energy I switch to Tai Chi  - whichever suits the moment.  there are some who use candles and incence works well to.  Just experiment until you get the right mix.  The only rule is a quiet environment (no cell phones!).  It may help to join a class or two for Tai Chi or Yoga to get the steps right.  Its good for the soul too as I feel less enclined to want to strangle some people at work - and thats a good thing in my profession as a nurse is supposed to be kind and caring.  Have fun as enjoy the ride.  Its a fun place to be in as you learn and grow.
