General idea for this forum...

Hi Newbies and Advisors!

So glad you made it here. Thanks for joining both this group and the community. Ask for what you are seeking and another might help you find it.
Feel free to start a discussion or post comments on the wall (like many so far, thanks)...
That's the idea anyway!
This group is very loosely administered... It's more a point of connection for new community members looking to meet others. New members may or may not be new to the concept of Paganism etc.

Express yourself!

Hugs,
Rebecca

This is all very new to me...I have been raised of Christian faith but have had something pulling at me and my interest learning. Of all of this has always kept at me. I need to know where to begin...I definitely have a certain intuition at times and do have dreams that inevitable will show some light...I can dream of someone of my past and if there is a negative happening in the dream...I will soon after hear from this person of something negative happening in there life. It scares me because I feel I need to channel this energy and see more in these dreams or visions...to help people.

Not exactly new to wicca, but still on the beginner level of spell work and controlling my energy.  Had more than one person tell me my level of energy is excessively high, any advise on how I can utilize this energy?

Hi, so I'm kind of new to all of this, and struggling to find a path to follow, so I guess I'm mostly looking for a mentor for help.

I have a few ?s. I"m new at this. what i"m having problems the most with is shielding and visualization. grounding is pretty easy but I"m best at picking up energy, from objects, ppl, etc. so how do I improve on the shielding and visualization?

thats the first ?. The other one is rather odd. Today I did my first introduction to the goddess and god. It went pretty well and I did everything right. I got some answers from both. Goddess her answers where in images, God was just two words. But very powerful. I felt a peace afterwards but it didn't last long. within 15min I felt overwhelmed and anxious. Ideas on this? Is this normal? what just happened?

Hi, I new to all of this and I'm not sure how to tell my parents. They are big Christians and they think pagans are evil. I need to tell them but I don't want to loose my family. I don't know what to do.

Hi Gary,

Yes, it is possible to be both, it is called Christo-Pagan. This is what many of our ancestors became as Rome spread it's influence. They understood their faith, and still felt times and seasons are to be honored. Also realize, only the Catholic Priests had even seen a Bible, most just carried "Missals" filled with what the Church felt was needed. It is a far more difficult path today, as you will find yourself shunned by both Christian and Pagan. For a more comprehensive description of this obtain the book of Dion Fortune's life. She was dismayed that when chosen by an ascended master, she got "stuck" with the Christ spirit. Her disappointment was depressing, until she began to learn truth. She was part of a group that, by order of Winston Churchill, fought against the Nazi's dark magick. So in her own way, she helped win WWII. This is why many presidents have had occult advisors, a secret honored until recently. I think Obama broke the chain, but this is a secret of the presidency!!!!

I have studied the Wiccan/Ceremonial Magick path for years. Why the multiple path? When I attained the third degree, I said to myself, "Is this all there is?" So I set out on a journey to find the real roots of modern Wicca/Paganism. I discovered that Wicca's roots were very firmly rooted in Ceremonial Magick. Modern Wicca's founder Gerald Gardner had been a member of Crowley's later version of The Golden Dawn, and the OTO. What struck me was Gardner was an Adeptus Minor (a fifth degree upon the sixth square, 5=6). At this degree one can create their own temple. Gardner did this, simplifying the callings, and interpreting the laws Crowley received in 1904. If one reads the law by Crowley in its entirety you will find Gardner did this very well. All at once, ordinary people could enjoy what could take years for many to understand. Gardner brought the temple to the people!!! Some call Ceremonial "watered down Christianity, " but it is anything but this. The roots can be found in the work of Dee as well, as the magick of Solomon (a pen name often done in ancient times) can be found in their work. All practitioners were to create their own paten (practicing Sigillum) and theirs was the Sigillum Dei Ameth, which with some study can be read easily. The very first codes that can be proven are the codes built into the Hebrew alphabet. Sounds like some kinda' study, right? Gardner simplified all these rules of practice (as was his right to perform), and gave us the altar paten of the pentagram. He gave us the full Pagan Sabbats, equalized for all. He followed the moon lore, giving us the Esbats as well as the freedom to practice any and all of the phases. I can take this much further, and I enjoy the learning aspect of teaching. As is said in many cultures, "when the teacher is ready to learn, the student will come!!!"

Hi,

I began this journey over a year and a half ago, but have known my whole life this was my place, my religion.

I am a solitary practiontioner, following the Feri tradition, and am hoping to find a mentor to speak with and to help guide me. I don't really mind which tradition you follow.
