I agree with Gixana. The woods are beautiful & thats where I grew up. To this day I hated moving to the desert. I cant wait until I move back to the Washington woods. I much rather prefer to practice in the woods as well, especially because its all nature, & its like you can feel the earth & her spirit.

Hello all, nice to meet everyone, this seemed to be a good place for me, since i grew up roaming a wonderful mostly oak forest, and have been in love with the woods and spending time in them ever since.

There was a serenity abound last night, a serenity I have not felt in years. The bright mourning moon shone over head and the air was crystal clear. The ancients were calm, at peace it seemed, for the first time in a long time. Samhain was wonderful and renewing as we toil head long into the cold dark nights that await us this winter. May we take our harvest and turn inward to self examination and discovery letting that which holds us down fall away so we may be stronger in the coming year.

Rain, sun, clouds, I'm fully enjoying this weather! But I think I'm gonna have to do my annual forest pickup soon. People sure do love their beer, and it shows in nature.

Oi, summer. It's hot as crap, and it's hard to run... Maybe the holly king should come back...

THE BATTLE FOR THE--WINTER

The misty dawn has broken on this shortest day.
The Holly King, in winter's green, is ready for the fray.
For half a year the leafy crown has rested on his brow.
To take the crown and cut him down is his brother's vow.

For six long months he ruled within his forest hold.
Throughout his reign, the foliate king, felt himself grow old.
The crown of leaves grew heavy still, the end was in his sight.
His weapons honed and armor shone, he readied for the fight.

The younger king was born, to issue challenge bold.
And take his place, with youthful grace, his brow to wear the gold.
His battle skills sharpened, the verdant crown, is his by right.
With shield of yew and sword new he went forth to show his might.

Twin brothers take the field, to battle for the crown.
The steal blades sing, they fight to bring each other to the ground.
With fatal strike the crown of green falls from his regal head.
He's proved his worth, the blood pours forth, his brother lies there dead.

The misty dawn has broken on this longest day.
The Oaken King, in summer's green, is ready for the fray.
For half a year the leafy crown has rested on his brow.
To take the crown and cut him down is his brother's vow.

hello all. in the forest, large stones, giant tree trunks around, in the private sanctuary of the wild, world shaped by world and not by man; that is when I find my most intimacy with the divine. this sounds like a place for people with that kind of mind.
