Wicca Wiccans Pagans and Free Souls.. live different.. be Neopagan!

Following this path for a very long time.

So long I can't remember another way. I started learning about wicca from my grandmother, she taught me a few spells years ago. Ones for sending thunder storms away, another to help flowers bloom and herbs grow. She taught me to read tea leaves, see the future in spider webs and other forms of divination. There were no stores for pagans then, not much was written down. Knowledge was passed around slowly, if it was passed at all. You had to be careful who you shared knowledge with, who you read for, and the minds you visited.

Today is so different, so open in a way I both enjoy and envy. How nice it would have been to have someone else to talk to, some one to share my excitement with. I wrote my book of shadows by hand, learned every but by wrote, Now about the only place you can't by spell kids is Wal-mart. Which is a good thing I might add. Still, I wonder.

I don't think how I learned, or the times I went through make me a better, or a worse pagan than anyone else, it just makes me a different one. I am almost scared to let people know I practice, I keep my other self tucked away, in the private parts of my home. I want to know if there are others on this site who have traveled the path for a while, who became initiates back before it was almost normal.

I stepped on this back when I was fourteen, back in the 1970's. I stepped on it because I was brought to it, it was already home. In a way, it was an easy road to choose, for me being a member of a mainstream monotheistic religion would have made me out of place in my family.

So what about the rest of you, any other gray hairs? I started a group today, for gray haired witches, just to see if there were any others. Or if I am mostly alone in my age group on this site. I am surrounded by witches and pagans young and old in my life. Then I do live just outside of Boston, and a short bus ride to Salem. This to is home, this is where my roots are.
