Wicca Wiccans Pagans and Free Souls.. live different.. be Neopagan!

This time of year it is a common thing for people to say "Merry Christmas" to anyone and everyone several times a day. I usually say "have a nice holiday" back... but there have been times when I get tired and just say "you too". :)

I am just wondering how everyone else responds and if you make a big deal about it, or like me am just too tired to argue about it. :)

I believe if someone is wishing me a Merry Christmas, or Happy Chaunakka, or what ever...I don't care. I mix well and to me it is like someone praying for me...if they care enough to wish me well so be it.
I do however get torked at people that get upset about people wishing them Happy Holidays, insisting it is Merry Christmas...I tell them "The last thing you want to do Cowboy, is get in a religious argument with a well educated Pagan. Go home and pick up a history book and come back when you are well armed. I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed foe."
I had a black girl give me a bunch of trouble about it when I worked in a hospital. Year after year she would make comments to me and I tried to tell her in a nice way to stop. I finally had to remind her that the only reason she celebrates Christmas was because her people were enslaved by the white man and stripped of most of their most cherished beliefs...and Christianity was literally beaten into her culture...(this i believe is tragic)... That shut her up.. I hated to have to do it...but I believe aggression is something we use when we HAVE to...
I like to give warning...

Aside from the fact that the original christ mass was supposed to be celebrated in an honor, so to speak, of this individual, and given the fact that the christians stand steadfast in their superiority over others, this day of theirs is sadly off by a few days...And to add to this obvious mistake considering who made up the current calender, how can a "sacred of all sacred" days be slung around from day to day so carelessly without any regard as to it's sanctity...No my friends I have over the years become somewhat reclusive in my thiking of these things...When someone says to me that so easily tossed around phrase-as though they really care if I do or not-I simply say...Yeah,what's so good about it?...Or even if I am feeliing generous...what's there to be so damn merry about?...

You see when you have been pursecuted and beaten down at every turn for who and what I am, for as long as I have, you develop a sense of who cares?...I celebrate every day as though it were another glorious day in Darkness. For that is what it is...For would it not be for the comforting safety of the Darkness which has surrounded me for so long, I don't think I could go one day without cramming a christmas tree up someone's ass...every year people ask me "When are you going to put up your tree and lights?" My answer? When they install an ice skating rink in Hell-and not in my neighbor hood-and when the Judas tree becomes legal and they start making black light strings...

When I was not stuck in this horrible place, my selebration for this "day of others" was spent around my witches' fire with come of my closest friends-creatures as well as people...Of course every day was spent, or should I say Night, around this same fire...Which at a time was kept going for over two hundred consecutive days one year...But, since I have been forced to reside in this living heaven on earth-haha-I have no intention of celebrating something that THEY have impoosed on us...For the last four years i have locked myself in our small place and closed to lights...I want no part of a misbegotten concept disigned to give one a false sense of morality...Thank you very much...Even the term Bah Humbug is too nice to say to THEM...

In conclusion I wish you all well in your persuit of knowledge and health...Would someone PLEASE sacrifice a goat for me?...Blessed Be.

This is something that I encounter almost daily during this time of year because I work in the retail industry. I simply wish them a merry Christmas as well because I do hope that they enjoy celibrating their holiday, I realize that they assume that I celebrate it as well so to them, wishing me a merry Christmas is just being polite. The fact that I celibrate Yule is really none of their concern.
