Oshun

I love the goddess Oshun. I haven't been "active" in my craft for a few years.. back then I chose her for half of my magickal name.. I knew a bit about her.. the superficial stuff.. Goddess of rivers (I've always been drawn to them) , Goddess of love, sensuality..

I knew I was drawn to her...I knew she would be important to my life...

and then I fell away from my studies and went back to the religion of my childhood because of unfortunate child custody disputes...

but in the past year and a half.. the call is becoming increasingly louder again. and I find myself once again feeling the pull of Oshun.. to learn more about her.. to love her.. to seek her...

I didn't know until tonight that her number was 5.. one of my lucky numbers is 5! (the other's 12..)
I didn't know she was the goddess of sexual/sensual acceptance of oneself (which is something I've been struggling with for the past few years)
And she is the orisha of divination.. I practice divination too!
She especially watches over the poor and brings them what they need... heyyy I'm poor! :)
And one of her symbols is a peacock feather. I've collected those for years!

wow.. it's so weird when you find out how subconscious the call to a particular deity can be....and how comforting and at peace it can make you feel....
