This week as we talk about Numerology

People have been assigning specific meanings to numbers all down the ages. But, actually, the word, "Numerology" was never used until very recently. We'll talk a bit about this history and some of the meanings that people have given to numbers theorey.

Then we'll look at some specific numbers. Of course meaning can be attached to virtually any number at all, so I'm just going t go over some of the more popular ones!

We start with the number 666. Some people take the Satanic associations of 666 so seriously that they actively avoid things related to 666 or the digits 6-6-6 together. This is actually a recognized phobia, and I'll tell you what it's called.

The Christians think the number 13 is unlucky, but we find it to be a sacred number among many nations of antiquity.

John Lennon famously beleived the number 9 to be very significant in his life, and he often referred to it in many of his songs. In numerology, we know that Nine is the number of the patience, and meditation.

The number 3 signifies that imagination and an outpouring of energy is in action.

Then finally, the number 1 points to independence, adventure, and new beginnings.

I hope you enjoy this week's show!

Some of the music you'll hear on this week's show include; Wendy Rule: "Zero"; Elvendrums: "1-1-1"; Abney Park: "The One"; Incubus Succubus: "I Am the One"; Sharon Knight: "13 Knots" and more.
