Wicca Official Worldwide Community of Pagans Wiccans & Neopagans

Wicca Wiccans Pagans and Free Souls.. live different.. be Neopagan!

It has always interested me to hear opinions on this topic. Personally I prefer solitary, with some fun with groups on line and social rituals.
I find people to be NUTS and hate to say it..so many groups focused on Drama. I like finding peace in nature and although I truly enjoy large group rituals, or social gatherings. I tend to stay solitary. It is so hard to find the right mix of people to have a closed coven with and keep the focus on what is important and not all the silly human games we play.

How to the rest of you feel about this?

erthgoddess, I agree with you completely. I think ritual is very personal and when it comes to casting or just meditation I think it VITAL for any pagan to really know themselves and follow their hearts in ritual. You can't hope to solve anything if what is coming from you is not purely your intent or you. We do have a small group of fantastic girls here but as FAWN mentioned, like hers ours has dwindled due to drama. We still have a strong core but only get together for the main sabbaths and holidays.
I was taught that all people were searching for inner magick and that even in a large group you had to allow your fellow pagans to blossom. You can't do that setting rules and boundaries beyond "and harm ye none". We take turn running ritual even though I am by far the oldest practicing pagan in the group. I have no urge to be the "boss" and love watching people just glow and grow.

So how do we DEFLECT drama in our own lives and be that type of person that influences other to follow this path without seeking ulterior personal motives?

I am solitary because I know this is my path and I want to be able to follow it till the end of my days. I have practiced in groups( more than an hour and a half drive away) and would love to find people who are serious about their path, but the truth is there really are not many Spiritual people around this small town. You know open minded, free flowing, agree to disagree( as in Wicca, there is No wrong!) types are those I seek. There are vast Numbers of Religious people, usually very closed minded and Organized. Not people I choose to try to spend time with.
We have a very small study group, but it started as a group of 7. Slowly it dwindled away due to people moving and the human inability to hold fast to a commitment or routine( plus drama outside the group). Now theres only 3...Its sad. But no matter... I will continue to walk my Path. It makes me whole.
Wishing Love and Light to all! -Be Blessed

I haven't had the opportunity to join a coven... or even a group of like minded people. There used to be a group of people who met often in the city I live in, but they evidently disbanded.I am not sure I would like to be a part of a large group.. or even a small group for that matter. :) I prefer to practice as I always have... as a solitary. I don't want anyone to tell me I am doing it wrong, or how I should handle my own rituals... that I am sure are not like everyone elses. I like discussing things... and am intrigued by the differences in people... but I am old and stubborn... and don't want to change my ways. :)
