The Haunting of Connecticut

Ok... last night i went to see the film "The Haunting of Connecticut" I will say it was good movie. And well... now i have so many questions. Since there are several people here that are more advanced in the paranormal topic than i am... i was wondering if anyone can answer a few questions for me?

There were some things in the film that might have been made up for dramatic purposes and then again... they might be true. Here are the questions:

Is it true that really powerful mediums can do ectoplasm?
Can removing the eyelids from dead people really make them unseen in death?
Why did people in the past take pictures of their dead as if they weren't dead?
