hi my name is Candice and I have just decided that my wiccan path will be druidism. Let me tell you how this came about. well i was at books a million today and i had been praying for the path i am to follow to be revealed to me. So, this book by Penny Bilingition called, "The path of druidry: walking the green way" revealed itself to me. Talk about a here's your sign moment lol. well i plan to get the book tomorrow so do you guys mind me asking questions as i begin my studies in it?

Hey everyone, I'm considering becoming a Druid, I only recently left Christianity, for intellectual reasons. I love the whole concept of being a Druid, and the core of the Druids' message. I'd love to learn whatever I can, and maybe surprise my own skepticism.

Happy Mean Geimhridh (in Irish) or as modern Druids say, Alban Arthuan. This is a time of year for reflection. May the lessons learned in the previuos year be blessing in the new one. Gather round the hearth my brethren and sistren and recount the stories of the past. Brightest Blessings fellow Druids

Here is a site I have found to be helpful. It allows me an easy way to plan things for future events.

THE BATTLE FOR THE--WINTER

The misty dawn has broken on this shortest day.
The Holly King, in winter's green, is ready for the fray.
For half a year the leafy crown has rested on his brow.
To take the crown and cut him down is his brother's vow.

For six long months he ruled within his forest hold.
Throughout his reign, the foliate king, felt himself grow old.
The crown of leaves grew heavy still, the end was in his sight.
His weapons honed and armor shone, he readied for the fight.

The younger king was born, to issue challenge bold.
And take his place, with youthful grace, his brow to wear the gold.
His battle skills sharpened, the verdant crown, is his by right.
With shield of yew and sword new he went forth to show his might.

Twin brothers take the field, to battle for the crown.
The steal blades sing, they fight to bring each other to the ground.
With fatal strike the crown of green falls from his regal head.
He's proved his worth, the blood pours forth, his brother lies there dead.

The misty dawn has broken on this longest day.
The Oaken King, in summer's green, is ready for the fray.
For half a year the leafy crown has rested on his brow.
To take the crown and cut him down is his brother's vow.

Uttered by the druid Amergin when he first set foot on Ireland. I quote it here because, in a magical way, it is the answer you would get if you asked a Druid, "what is a Druid?"

I am the wind on the sea
I am the wave of the sea
I am the bull of seven battles
I am the eagle on the rock
I am a flash from the sun
I am the most beautiful of plants
I am a strong wild boar
I am a salmon in the water
I am a lake in the plain
I am the word of knowledge
I am the head of the spear in battle
I am the God that puts fire in the head
Who spreads light in the gathering on the hills?
Who can tell the ages of the moon?
Who can tell the place where the sun rests?

Greetings all just wanted to introduce myself. I am Taliesin Soladraig. I am a member of the Order of the Sacred Cauldon and have been walking the wooded path for near on 25 years. Got my start when I was 13 and have not looked back. I would love to discuss many things. I write poetry and fiction, I listen to all kinds of music (ask if you are interested to many to list ), and I play miniature wargames. Looking forward to hearing from ya'll.
