The craft I currently am working on is Decoupage. I am using Cigar boxes, tissue paper, and other things to create beautiful boxes. Anyone else have anything they are working on?

Thought I'd share a craft we did for Yule time. We painted mason jars, some white, some silver and some gold, then we tied a ribbon around then and hung them from trees and placed a tea light in them, we also lined the walk way with them. They made very festive and safe candle holders that helped light the way.

So do I.  My herb journal contains most of the herbs and spices pertaining to the page (lavender = sprig of every dried species I can find).  I use leaves, flowers and in some cases roots.  Smells devine when opened and makes easy reference when I need something.  Lifes interestin in the Craft.

The nice thing about The Craft is that your imagination can go wild.  Most of the tools can be made form natural elements that are surched out on walks or can be bought (crystals, totums, etc).  Ive made most of my own tools and add to them as the mood or need strikes.  At the moment Im making a dream catcher and some incense as Im running low.  Use your imagination and soar as theres no limit to what you can accomplish with a little inguinity.

after drying them completely you could carefully dip them in melted wax (parifin [sp] to preserve for a very long time.

You could try putting them in a warm oven I think that would take the gooey out.

Hi elaine I do press flowers to make cards and book marks, etc with but I want to make a sort of arangement with dried flowers and ribbon for the top of a present box.  Ive managed to get the bogunvilla dry but the rosebuds keep falling apart and the leaves go all gooy. I live in a Saudi and dont have a food dehydrator - they have never heard of one here neither as I got a few confused looks when I asked.  Any other siggestions??  Ill be looking for one of those when I go home to South Africa though.

Does anybody know how to dry flowers so that their pettals dont fall off?  Im trying to make items of dried natural materials for presents.  Boganvilla works well but rose petalls end up on the floor ans sticking them back doesnt work.
