I recently started a relationship with someone. Everything seemed to be going well. I was elated in fact. One night after seeing him I had a very bad dream with him in it. I can't remember all the details but he was very angry with me. At this point I had only been dating him for about two weeks so I remember being very confused as to why he was sooo livid.

I remember following him around asking him why he was angry with me. He kept shaking his head and saying I never want to see you again. I think we might have been backstage at some kind of club or concert and there was very loud angry music playing. The interesting part about that is he is a mobile DJ among other things.

Just a few days ago he told me we were going to have to switch gears in our relationship and be "just friends". I was hurt and disappointed. I wasn't angry at him however just at myself for getting my hopes up after so short of time had lapsed in our relationship. I think the part that hurt the most is that he told me he asked another girl to be his exclusive girlfriend. I knew we weren't exclusive before this. It still hurt to not be chosen If you know what I mean.

He "let me down easy" if that's even possible. The only part of the conversation that made me want to scream was when he basically told me I should be grateful that he was being so frank and honest. It took all my self-control not to burst into tears.

I just find this happens to me often when I or someone I love is going to suffer an emotional blow. My pagan mentor says it's because I'm an Empath.

Does anyone else share this experience? Do you have dreams that seem to mimic life before the event happens?
Prophesy, of a sort maybe.

Hi Becky, I don't dream about future events nor do I remember my dreams very offen. I do get, when I am awake, a flash like a dream that will tell me the future of something or something that has happen in space and time. The real word stops and I am engulfed with these visions that are not connected to what is happening to me at the moment. The flash last for how ever long the events takes but in real time it is only a few seconds before I return to what is happening around me. I see the future or possible future and I see events that people has done in areas or rooms.
I understand the disjointed time thing. In my dreams I can have a week go by in only about 8 hours. I don't remember all my dreams just the important ones. I also have precognitive flashes but not quite as advanced as you described.
My first premonition happened when I was almost two. There was an ice storm and my mom and I were out driving my sister to school. I had a flash of a car doing circles on the ice in my head and I started screaming my uncle's nickname. "Bomba! Bomba!" My mom stopped the car calmed me down and asked what was wrong. I told her my uncle was in trouble. She believed me and we started praying for him. About that time he was driving on a freeway with a steep embankment and he started doing 360's towards it. At the time we started praying the car mysteriously straighted out and he was able to drive again.
I don't have this often but it happens.
How accurate are you with your dreams. I mean how often are you right and how often does the dream not come to pass. Do you write your dreams in a journal when you wake up so you can remember them? I wrote my dream in a journal for a couple of years and they did not come to pass but did provide some interesting insight to myself. In my coven at the time, I had a dream interpreter to give me insight into my dreams. She told me this means this and that means that. In the end, she was just telling me, I am just a couple of bricks short of a full load. Oh well, Happy dreaming all.
I have a lot of dreams that are just dreams. I "know" when the dream is more than that or if it is a particularly important message from my subconscious. Those are the ones that I write down. I don't journal the mundane everyday dreams just the ones that reach out and grab me by the shoulders and shake me so to speak.
The time that elapses between my dream premonitions and the real life event can
vary drastically for me. One 3 part dream I had the first was a presently happening event the second was a future one and the third was the abstract introspective motivation sybolism type of dream. this is what makes it difficult for me to tell the difference between the premonitions and the standard dreams. I've learned to trust my instincts and when I get a feeling kind of like a deja vu or a skin ruffling shiver that the dream was a true seeing.
