Jancitha, you are very welcomed for the very nice comment that you left for me :-) As for all forms of "work", there will always be a basis for a foundation that you can build on. No forms of devination is completly set in stone. I have been reading for many yrs now and the best form that I have discovered is that you read the energy from which ever form that you use and trust your intuition completely. It will never let you down! Like the Magician card in the Tarot, I have learned that he is not only a very strong person that understands the hidden forces of energy, for example, but sometimes I have learned that he is walking away, so, depending on the energy, sometimes that person needs to be secluded to re-group so to speak. I know that there are other cards that represent that as well, but sometimes, certain cards can have more of a impact on you at the time. As the same with all forms of devination, there is a foundation that YOU can build on. LOL I am probably preaching to the chior so to speak for I am guessing that you already know this. But for the others that are trying to make a stronger, I do hope that this helps.
Blessings

I have always felt an affinity for Taoism, so my preferred method is I Ching divination. It's helped me avoid a lot of mistakes and negative outcomes...

Thank You for Inviting me Herne. I've been reading Runes for at least 9 1/2 yrs. and Tarot for 5. Instinct works well for me when I do not rely on Divination, as we all have that inside. Sometimes not good news too. I knew when my son was 17 yrs. old, he'd not make it past 25. It came to be.
Blessed Yule to ALL.& Goddess Bless )0(

THE BATTLE FOR THE--WINTER

The misty dawn has broken on this shortest day.
The Holly King, in winter's green, is ready for the fray.
For half a year the leafy crown has rested on his brow.
To take the crown and cut him down is his brother's vow.

For six long months he ruled within his forest hold.
Throughout his reign, the foliate king, felt himself grow old.
The crown of leaves grew heavy still, the end was in his sight.
His weapons honed and armor shone, he readied for the fight.

The younger king was born, to issue challenge bold.
And take his place, with youthful grace, his brow to wear the gold.
His battle skills sharpened, the verdant crown, is his by right.
With shield of yew and sword new he went forth to show his might.

Twin brothers take the field, to battle for the crown.
The steal blades sing, they fight to bring each other to the ground.
With fatal strike the crown of green falls from his regal head.
He's proved his worth, the blood pours forth, his brother lies there dead.

The misty dawn has broken on this longest day.
The Oaken King, in summer's green, is ready for the fray.
For half a year the leafy crown has rested on his brow.
To take the crown and cut him down is his brother's vow.

Hi Herne! It's me again! As I said to you I read the Tarot cards. I've been reading for about 20 years here in Rio Grande/ Brasil. I also read Runes, Astrological Maps and Erindinlogun, an african oracle with shells. It's a pleasure to me to join to this auspicious group! Good vibes to you all!

Bird, Flight and Song

Bird divination was one of the most important forms of auspicy (messagescoming from the sky) practised in cultures throughout the world. Omens were gathered either through the singing, crowing or croaking of birds or through the pattern and direction of their flight. The term auspice for a prediction comes from the Latin for an observer of birds. In Ancient Rome special augurs (trained philosophers) would interpret the auspicy which was seen as a message from Jupiter. In Rome, flight Auspicy took place within a sacred space, called templum, that was not a building but imaginary divisions marked off in the sky or on the ground by an augur.

Interpreting Bird Flight

You can use a flock of birds or a single one. Ask a question or think of a decision that involves a course of action and watch the behaviour of the bird. I have given the modern interpretations of the old auguries. If you are in a place where a variety of birds fly and perch, you might like to use the bird meanings given above to interpret areas of strength or concern. If you are in no hurry, sit and wait for the first birds to arrive. A bag of corn may hasten the process.

Dark & Light

As a rule of thumb, where there is more than one species of birds, a light or brightly coloured birds indicates immediate action, while darker ones indicate a delay. If the question involves options, the arrival or movement of a light-coloured bird would tell you to act, a darker one to wait. Sometimes you can find darker and lighter birds among the same flock of pigeons and can observe which arrives or departs first.

Direction

Birds flying from the right indicate a smooth passage in any venture and that confident action should be taken. Birds flying from the left indicate delays and perhap counsel waiting or remaining silent for a while. Birds flying straight towards the questioner indicate that happier times are coming. Those flying directly away suggest that the next few days are a time for tact and caution and for making plans rather than embarking on new ventures.

Height

The higher the flight, the more favourable the omen. If the bird flies directly upwards, then the venture should achieve swift success with little effort needed on your part. If the flight is horizontal or veers up and down with the bird landing and flying off then landing again, you may need to apply more effort and not be deterred by initial obstacles.

Changing Course

If a bird suddenly changes direction, there may be sudden changes of heart or inconstancy from those close to you or sudden doubts of your own that you need to examine.

Hovering

If a bird hovers directly overhead, beware of hidden criticism or new friends who may be less than direct.

Bird Song

If a song birds sings or utters a cry as it takes flight, it is a good sign for going ahead at once with any matter. A bird that calls as it lands may indicate caution is needed. If a dark bird or a bird of prey screams as it circles, unless it is near its nest there may be unexpected opposition to overcome.

Interpreting Song

Dawn is a good time for listening to bid song. Go where there are a number of birds, such as doves or blackbirds. Ask a question and close your eyes. Let the chrous form pictures and words in your mind. Your answer will come with the flow of the song.
