Wicca Wiccans Pagans and Free Souls.. live different.. be Neopagan!

I just converted from christianity.  It just appeals to what i believe more so if someone could just let me know what some good starting spots for learning that would be great.  Even if you just want to tell me some stuff about the religion. That would be amazing.  Thank you.

Blessed be

I would imagine the reasons that many of us have come to this path are as varied as the stars in the sky. I myself was wanting to expand my spiritual life. More in line with what I believe. I agree with reading Wiccan for Beginners. I have found this book to not only be educational and enlightening, I also found the authors use of humor quite enjoyable. Good Luck to you.

Many Blessings

Merry Meet All,

I, like MANY others was raised christian and have nothing against it if that is the path you choose, but we here choose to follow many paths. Just one of the things I noticed when practicing christanity vs. Wiccan is the is my surroundings. When in Christianity you focus on people because that is the only ones getting into heaven, the planet and animals on it are just here for our amusement I guess. But when I am in tune with the Lord and Lady I notice so much more. My dog can have a bad day and I notice, a tree is budding I notice, clouds roll across the sky I notice. I guess what I am saying is that we as Wiccan pay attention to what others may see as the small stuff.

I completely agree with Shane, Wicca for Beginners is a great book and it was the first one I sent my friends when they became interested. One other piece of advice: Pay attention to things that draw you, you will either keep returning to them or they will keep showing up. This can be tools for you altar, something the Goddess is wanting you to know or simply a sign you to use in that day.

I'll give you an example: I have been disowned by my "family" for my beliefs and really upset over how they are viewing me now. I was walking my dog yesterday morning before work, I was drawn to the rooftops of the apartment (I never look at them) but I saw this little squirrel perched up there just looking out over the world. Now this little guy thought he was the master of all up there, didn't care in the least how I saw him. I realized that the Goddess was telling me to act like the squirrel, be happy with who I am not how others may see me.

Blessed Be,

Janna

Merry meet!

I started a lot like you, and what is suggest is a lot of reading!! I started out with The Idiot's Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft by Denise Zimmerman. It is a very good starting point. I also read Solitary Witch by Silver RavenWolf. Both of these books are good starting points. They have a lot of general information. I would also suggest anything by Scott Cunningham. He is a brilliant author. I would also look stuff up online. Though I warn you, this can be quite confusing, there is a lot of misinformation out there so be careful. There is also plenty of good information too, you just have to use your instincts and find what feels right for you. Research about what you want to learn, this should be a fun pleasant experience. If you have any questions at all don't hesitate to email me at silver.snowraven@gmail.com. I am here to help and to teach.

Blessed Be!!

read, Doreen Valiente, who was Gerald B gardner's HP you will learn as you progress, listen to what is around you, like  nature trees, observe nature. Go with your feelings if something feels off then avoid it. Your instincts will guide you. I took to this place, so far so good...Scott Cunningham is also my favourite, he is no nonsense and lets face it over 80% of us on this planet are working as solitary. So read a lot, keep what feels right discard what's not. Above all don't be afraid to ask questions, there are no stupid questions not here  BB
