General idea for this forum...

Hi Newbies and Advisors!

So glad you made it here. Thanks for joining both this group and the community. Ask for what you are seeking and another might help you find it.
Feel free to start a discussion or post comments on the wall (like many so far, thanks)...
That's the idea anyway!
This group is very loosely administered... It's more a point of connection for new community members looking to meet others. New members may or may not be new to the concept of Paganism etc.

Express yourself!

Hugs,
Rebecca

Merry Meet everyone (:
I've been on this site before just looking around but now I'm in a point in my life when I think I really need to step into this deeper. I've always felt drawn to paganism and have always felt a strong connection to the Earth but have never been a religious person (even though I grew up in a highly Christian family). I'm looking for new friends and people who understand how I feel. Hope everyone is having a blessed day (:

Hi Cole I hope you have a merry time discovering your path.  Its an exciting time in your life as you broaden your horizons.  As for starting I suggest that you start with reading (alot) and meditation.  It takes a while for one to be able to clear the mind and relax enough to focus ones energies on the magic which is all around if you look.  Long walks anables our Mother to speak to us and She is a great teacher if one is willing to listen to the wind and natural sounds around us. Im a solitary with little formal education  but I have had alot of guidance from Her as I went along.  Just remember the Rede and have fun exploring the possibilities that present themselves.

merry meet. i'm very new and i have no idea where to begin, i have a few books on spells and rituals, but i don't know what to do, my mother is an extremely religious christian, along with most of my family, and they don't approve of my choice to committ to this religion. they are constantly trying to make the transition from christian to neopagan difficult. but this religion feels right to me, and i want to learn. can any of you help me start?

Merry Meet everyone. I'm new here and I wanted to just say hi. I've really started to train and figure out my path recently, but I have been reading books and researching the internet for the past 2 years and I've decided this is what I want to do. Can't wait to talk to other new to the craft people like myself.

Try changing the style.  I had one of those blocks and changed from "sitting still" to Thai Chi and it worked for me.  Changing methods work for others Ive spoke to - if you use candles try focusing on something else instead.  Persolanny I tend to change my styles to suit my mood at the time.  if I feel restful enough then I use a "stationary" form but if theres too much energy and Im restless then I swing to Thai Chi.  Hope its helpful.

Another question.  How do you get over a meditation block.  I haven't been able to truely reach a good meditative state in 8years so my energy is all out of wack.  Any suggestions.

Thank you very much.  I will look for these books.  I've been learning wicca on and off for about 15 years but I've never took the time to do things correctly.  Thank you.

Here's a question that might sound dum but hay I've got to ask.  What is the difference between wicca and paganism, or any of the other paths?  I don't really get into labels because to me they impose restrictions so i never really thought about it.  Now I believe that I should start committing to this because this is my religion and I need to find my path.
